I'm Stephen Forder. I build and maintain the South African energy projects database myself, reading the news, regulatory records, company announcements and site visits that feed it, so the answers below come from that work. If your question is not here, ask me directly.
Energy projects in South Africa: wind, solar PV, concentrated solar, battery storage, hydro, gas and the state coal fleet, from early development through construction to operation and retirement. Coverage spans every REIPPPP bid window, the RMIPPPP and the private and merchant pipeline.
Every value is captured from a named source, dated, and given a confidence rating. News, company websites, regulatory and environmental-authorisation records, LinkedIn and site visits all feed it, and the full change history of each field is kept.
Daily. New sources are reviewed as they appear and every accepted change is logged against its source. The public change log shows what moved recently without naming projects.
No. The home page publishes aggregates only. Project profiles, organisations, turbine fleets, locations and change histories are for members. APIs and bulk exports are quoted per engagement under NDA and are never sold as a product.
Developers, EPCs and OEMs sizing the market, lenders and advisers tracking projects to financial close, researchers, NGOs, landowners and community trusts who need to know what is being built near them.
Register interest on the contact page. Membership is quoted per organisation with a fixed number of seats, and gives access to the project explorer, profiles, organisations, turbine fleets, locations and change histories.
APIs and bulk exports are scoped and quoted per engagement under NDA, limited to the fields and regions you need. They are never sold as an off-the-shelf product.
Use the contact page. Corrections are welcome and are recorded with their source like every other change, so the history shows what was wrong and when it was fixed.
